View Full Version : Your fav team & season expectations
Calgary Flames
Win the division and at least 2nd round of the playoffs. With the additions Sutter has made in the off season, anything less then a division title and therefore home ice advantage would be a let down. I also believe that it is time to finally win a round or two in the post season.

Montreal Canadiens
I really think they will compete with Boston for the division. Everyone keeps saying they got smaller with the additions of Cammalleri, Gomez and Gionta. but they're replacing Koivu, Kovalev and Tanguay as the main offence on the team, and lets be honest here... those three didn't play big at all. Outside of Kovalev who could at least somewhat fight for the puck along the boards, Tanguay and Saku were constantly pushed around. I love what Gainey has doen with the team and cannot wait for the season to start.
I actually think the NorthEast division is a total crap shoot. I don't expect much out of Buffalo. I think Toronto could even compete for a playoff spot, but I agree that the division title comes down to MTL or BOS.

im interested to see what our team is gonna be like im annoyed that we got rid of komisarek the others i sort of figured were gonna leave but stupid me i bought a komisarek t-shirt on the last day of june before he got signed by the leafs and i got a kovalev t-shirt a little while ago too and he went to ottowa... whats worse is the fact that those were the only 2 we offered contracts to and they both said no and then went to rival teams (maybe ottowa isnt a rival team but i dont like them) i like our new defense but we should get rid of hamrlik i didnt know he was costing 5.5 mil ffs thats no good anyway im rambling i dunno how well were gonna do but its gonna be interesting
(im talking about montreal)
(and i put a patch that reads Donovan over the komisarek on the back of the shirt as opposed to burning it now i have a pretty cool t-shirt)

i am so happy komi is gone. he's not worth anything toronto is paying him and he won't have markov there to cover his mistakes. all he can do is hit and block shots, he's actually not that great of a defenceman.

I know we wouldve been called idiots for paying him that much but now were called stupid for letting him go and i just got that shirt... anyway he wasnt playing nearly as well since the lucic fight didnt even hit as much only thing he did all season was flatten Avery near the end

tampa reportedly signed tanguay :O i thought this last year and was proven wrong but they now have st.louis lecavalier tanguay stamkos hedman ohlund i think they signed a goalie i cant remember but without injuries they should be pretty good
also vancouver signed shneider and got a few veterans from the sharks
Yeah the Sharks dumped 5 mil of salary on the Canucks and got two prospects in return. The Canucks all off season wanted to improve the blue line and obviously got desperate, and in my mind heavily overpaid.
The Sharks dumping the salary may mean they are trying to acquire Heatley?

Sharks freeing up cap space for heatley?? Marleau to the habs? bye bye hamrlik?
(i probably misspelled names but shhh)
Why would Montreal need another center?

they need a better 2nd liner then plekanecs. and tamp will most assuredly not win the cup.

i didnt say they would they will just be better then last year :/ which isnt that difficult..
I was talking to Ryan Russell at a golf tourney, and it sounds like he will be an injury call up this season. I am excited for him to get his shot.

Flyers! Yeah! Maybe this year they won't get knocked out by the Penguins.
Well the dirtiest team in the NHL got the dirtiest defencmen in the league. Perfect match! :D

You talk about goalies that can carry their teams to the cup.
Well pronger is a d-man that can carry his team to the cup.
Flyers have the team to make a run at it this year,
cept for that goalie of theirs.

We'll see what happens.
oh yes, I also forgot that they got the dirtiest goalie too!
Team: Buffalo Sabres
Expectations: None.
I hate to be such a downer but even though we would've been in the playoffs last year if Miller and Vanek weren't out, we didn't get much better during the Offseason while everyone else in the division did. Buffalo has a ton of good prospects almost NHL ready, so I'm more excited about the next few years rather than now. I'd go 0-82 this season if it meant getting Taylor Hall tho. I have the biggest man crush ever on him and think he's gonna be an absolute stud.

O.K. Little late on this post - but I expect the Blackhawks to finish where they left off. It was a great season, too bad it had to end against the NHL scum. (sorry red wing fans if any....Chicago boy -would you expect less?) I knew Habi and Havlat were gone, but wasnt happy about it, thats for sure. Havlat finally had the season we expected him to have - so obviously they let him go for Hossa. I think where the Blackhawks end up at the end of the season weighs mostly on Huet - Im not a Huet fan but I hope he proves me wrong. Huet seems to drop to his knees when the puck drops - SHOOT HIGH!! Team is still young, stacked and deep so it should be fun. Feels like the season just ended and Im going to my first preseason game vs Wash this Saturday. What a week - NHL 10 tomorrow and Caps on Sunday!!

Habs are in trouble now.. markov is out for 4 months with something cut in his leg :P cant remember what but in the replay it looked like price's skate hit the front of his shin so i thought he would be fine since they have pads there and its the front of the shin not the back but apparently now hes out for 4 months probably with the same thing lang had last year so i think were kinda screwed without him :/ gonna be a rough 4 months
Torn tendon is all I can find on it. And four months is the minimum. Ouch

Montreal will be alright, it's a hugh loss but they'll be fine!
If Thursday night is any indication, Montreal certainly needs all the help they can get on defence. If it wasn't for Price, that game would have been out of hand by the end of the 2nd.

nah, the shots don't count in the long run, price faced maybe 5 shots that were worriesome. the habs did a good job keeping the shots from the outside and controlling the rebounds. i watched the whole game at work, (lol) and as much as tsn wants to make it sound like toronto controlled the game... they didn't.
